Kuix general board » KUIX midlet does not start on Nokia phones

Hi,

We are trying a simplete hellow world code, in our existing application. The midlet works fine on sony erricson, however fails to start the application on any of the nokia phones. We tried with n70, n73 and 6600.

Is there a known issues on nokia phones.

Also, binaries of kuix are generic and not specific to any manufacturer etc.. is that correct

We use kxml2 api in our application.. does kuix has any clash with any of the other 3 rd party library.

Kuix technical support » default styles

Hi,

Is it manditory to provide a style sheet for kuix. Does the default not assumed by default..

We keep getting startApp threw an Exception
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Bad border-image value

If style sheet is compulsory, what is the name of the style sheet and where it should be kept and what is the min style attributes needed in that style.

Some time back things were working fine.. not sure what changes of our is resulting in this..

Kuix general board » KUIX support local languages

Hi,

Is there a way to enable local font support using image bitmaps etc on phones which does not have UTF-8 charset of that said local language.

If we were to customise kuix to support this, how easy or difficult is it.. any pointers pl.

Kuix technical support » "Browse" File System Button

Hi,

It would be good have high level support to browse and choose the list by special button. This way the application could provide the list of the items from which selection to be enabled.

The compatable way to let the Browser button handle directory browsing, given the directory name is  to support browsing on JSR-75 phones and show the message that it can't access the filesystem due to non jsr-75 support. This way we could let the user type in the complete directory name him self.

That is looking at Browse Button  as a way to select from list which could either come from application or from local filesystem or from network (getting the list from network would not need JSR-75 support) would have good value widget.

Kuix technical support » Softkey mapping

From the source code, I see kUIx assumes perticular key code based on some system properties. However this would only let the kuix understand that manufacturer family. However in some cases, all the devices of a perticular manufacturer does not share the same key code.

Would be nice KUIX has built in widgets, so that when it gets displayed, user would have a way to presse the respective keys, so that from then on those key codes would be used for application commands. This is little painful as user should know how to train the application with the key codes, however, it could help and sent a new treand for all the mobile applications to self configure. Other approach is compile time providng of the key codes, however this would mean different binary for different devices.
