Dear all community developers,
We are proud to announce the release of Kuix under GPL. We have though for several weeks now to open the Kuix source code and here we are! Enjoy now an unlimited access to Kuix to understand and extend the framework. Do not forget to use the community forum to discuss about your feeling, your problems or simply to give some feedback on Kuix! It will help us to make it even better...
Do not forget, if you do not want to release your mobile applications under GPL, we can still release commercial licenses (see pricing on the kalmeo.com website). In this way, you will help us to go further with Kuix.
We hope you will enjoy this new change and hope to hearing from you soon on the community forums.

Dear all,
After its release under GPL few days ago, We have decided to change one more time the KUtil licensing scheme to LGPL. As you can see, this even more "open" license tends to make KUtil a common library for community developers as for professional who plan to use it with Kuix.
Regards,

Hello,
Yes, with the license we are working on, we would like to allow you to sell your applications powered by Kuix. BUT, with a GPL license, if you release a public application, you will have to keep the GPL license. It means that the application you will produce will have to be also open source.
(note: for developers that do not want to release their application under GPL, we will keep the possibility to sell affordable commercial licenses)
In this way, we tend to promote the Open Source Community, and not only gracefully provide a framework for professional Java ME developers.
As a return of investment, we expect the community to help us to improve Kuix (with bug correction, new features integration and more generaly, an external feedback on our product).
Here is our line for Kuix. We hope, the community will share our vision and help us to provide a better user experience on mobile devices.
Regards,

Hi,
the current Kuix NC-EULA is being to change to an open source Licence (GPL or CC) within the week. Therefore, our price structure will change in the same time to address the needs of companies which do not want to propagate the open source license to their commercial products.
Regards,
Benjamin

Hello,
The price of a commercial license will depend on the associated service level (source code access, documentation, support, etc.). To give you an accurate response, we invite you to contact us via contact@kalmeo.com and describe briefly your needs.

Hello,
with the actual licensing scheme (KUtil@GPL and Kuix@NCEULA), if you want to sell Kuix powered applications, you will need to acquire a Commercial License.
Since Kuix is a main piece of our growing strategy, this licensing policy aims to protect our new business arround J2ME. In the future (several months), we will consider to go further in our open source strategy and to release Kuix under an open source license (like GPL or CC for instance). However, today, it is not the case.
Do not hesitate to give your opinion on this subject, the point of view of the community will help us to understand your expectations.
Regards ,

Kuix 0.9.1 has been released. It include several improvements like enhanced loading screen support, extended CSS capabilities and widget customization support.
Important note: this release is NOT COMPATIBLE with kuix 0.9.0. If you want to upgrade your old midlet with Kuix 0.9.1, you will need to move your code from our old Canvas class to the midlet (were 2 abstract methods were added). Please, refer to the CHANGELOG file in the package for more informations.
The tutorial section has also been updated to reflect the structural changes.
